Thought for the week - 1st March

If its worth having its worth fighting for?

I was listening to the new Cheryl Cole song 'Fight for This Love' today (don't judge, it was on the radio)

In it she sings: 'Anything thats worth havin, Sure enough worth fighting for...we've gotta fight for this love, if its worth having its worth fighting for'

Whilst I didn't disagree with that statement (there are many things to fight for because they are worth it) it did make me think how the most important thing to me didn't need fighting for.

Jesus doesn't ask for me to fight for his love, he gave it too me freely. He doesn't ask me to struggle for his forgiveness when I do something wrong, he just needs me to ask for it.

On the other hand, Jesus not only fought for my love...he died for it, because he thought I was worth it. Seems a bit upside down doesn't it?  To think that he valued my love so much that he would die for it. Makes you think?
